The Parungpanjang Demo-Plot, developed in strategic partnership with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), is an integral part of the MakroSan Superior Genetic program, serving as the primary site for Trial and Selection and crucial field research activities. This research hub has evolved through several key stages: the 2011 1 Ha Demo-Plot established an essential seed garden prior to the formal BRIN agreement. Subsequently, the 2022 2 Ha Demo-Plot conducted comparative studies on provenances from Alas Purwo, Carita, Bangka, and Batukaras to isolate superior genetic traits. Furthering this work, the 2024 1 Ha Demo-Plot utilized generative seeds from the 2011 site to assess cultivation standards and nutrient protocols. Currently, the 2024 3000 m² Demo-Plot is focused on evaluating vegetative propagation methods across multiple clones to ensure sustainable and high-quality bioenergy feedstock production.
